Hat-Trick Earns Riiff Honorable Mention
 
New Haven, CT – (9/21/2010) – Chestnut Hill College recorded two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) wins and remained unbeaten in the league this week with an offensive outburst. Junior forward Lauren Riiff (Clementon, NJ) was recognized with an honorable mention among the CACC weekly award winners as she closed the week with a hat-trick and an assist in the Griffins 4-0 win over Post University.
 
Chestnut Hill College (6-1-1, 5-0) opened the week defeating Goldey-Beacom College 5-2 on September 22 with goals coming from five Griffins. They followed that with a 4-0 win over Post University at home on September 25. Against the Eagles, Riiff erupted for three goals and an assist. She gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with breakaway-goals at 4:06 and 21:41, before connecting with senior midfielder Tara Morey (Pittsgrove, NJ) to make the advantage 3-0 at 63:15. Riiff completed the hat-trick with her third unassisted tally of the afternoon; a hard strike to the top right after a drive down the center of the pitch. She now leads the Griffins in goals (4), points (10), shots (22), and game-winning-goals (2).
 
The women’s soccer team continues their CACC schedule with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Holy Family University on Tuesday, September 28. Due to weather concerns, the contest will be played a Victory Field #1 on the campus of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
