Covic Collects CACC Women’s Tennis Honor Roll Recognition for Play at ITA East Region Championships
New Haven, Conn. - (9/18/2018) – Junior Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia) earned a mention on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Tennis Honor Roll this week, after scoring a win in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championships main singles bracket.
Covic and her partner, junior Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) were unable to advance in the doubles bracket as they suffered an 8-2 loss to Stonehill College juniors Annelise Howick (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Alexandra Vo (Washington Crossing, Va.). But in singles competition Broville and Covic did surpass the qualifying round. Covic won her first match in the main bracket over Le Moyne College sophomore Caroline St. Antoine (Longueuil, Canada), unfortunastely, she later exited competition with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (6), loss to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) freshman Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico).
